Streetwalker of the Month.

Dan, 27 Bartender
Got Him:
On the corner of Spring and Mott

Stalked Him:
Because we were taken aback by the utterly head-turning color of his pants.

Shot Him:
Because the relaxed fit of the orange pants paired with a soft blue oxford and roughed-up Sperrys was the perfect way to turn a preppy look into something pretty cool.

He says:
"I don't know, I just woke up and put it on, but the pants are A.P.C and the shoes are my old pair of Top-siders."

We Say:
Miuccia's not the only one with a license to orange.

Alison, freelance textile designer
Got her
: Spring and Mercer

Stalked her
: Because her floral top brought the right amount of interest and color to her simple black shorts.

Shot her
: Because we're a little obsessed with her shoes - which look comfortable, cute and could go with anything. In fact, you could say the same for her whole outfit - it's stylish, but bare enough for the unbearable heat.

She says
: I've been wearing this outfit a lot - I'm even a little sick of it by now!

We say
: If it ain't broke...

So I decided that I'll be posting pictures of streetwalkers every month. For now this is the courtesy of Fashionista.com. Once I get a new camera, I'll be doing this more often. Oh Labor Day Weekend is finally here and I'll be taking a break from blogging. Come back on Tuesday.

What the F***!!

If you're a fan of The Hills, then you'll probably like this one....or not. I came across this bitch trying to make it in the music industry. I believe you know whom I'm talking about. Heidi Montag. WOW! According to the video, she's pathetic. Fuck! Go back to Colorado and suck a dick for living. I think that's the only she's good at. Can't believe she thinks she's a celebrity.

Taylor Wants Miu Miu...

Today, Taylor Momsen's test shots were posted on the IMG Website.
Momsen was recently signed to the agency's women's board, where she joins the ranks of Daria, Stam, and Kate Moss. Except that Taylor is fourteen, and yes, on Gossip Girl. A source from the shoot - in Brooklyn - tells us that "Taylor was so nice and so cool. She took the subway from her apartment in Chelsea to the set, with her mom. They said they didn't want to do the usual obvious stuff that a teen TV star would do; they were looking for really high-end things." Which means that instead of the Neutrogena and Dooney and Bourke route - as traveled by Hilary Duff, Mischa Barton, and now, Emma Roberts and Vanessa Hudgens - Momsen is reaching for Miu Miu, Chanel, and other luxury brands that move between major models and major stars. But let's not forget that up 'til now, Taylor is basically just a teen soap star. She's very pretty and seems very cool, but is she aspirational enough - at a junior high age - to sell $4,000 bags?
Someone will probably think so. Stay tuned

Pinhole Camera

Today, I was looking through sites just for fun and I happen to found a blog that talks about art, movies, and what not. So I clicked art and crafts and I found this really cool site about making your own camera. (Pinhole camera) If you took Mr. D's photography class then you know what I'm talking about. This particular site tells you how to make the pinhole camera. The site only have three templates for you to download. Whew! I'm really excited to make it. For now, I'm going to wait because I need to find a really good printer paper and a place to print. Friend's house perhaps. I honestly think this is the dopest shit. If you know a place to print, tell me. I'm willing to do this. All ya photography lover, maybe you should do this. Oh and you're welcome. Enjoy.

Street Art Invasion

London’s Tate Modern is paying homage to Street Art: six international artists have been decorating the building’s facade and are taking part to a group exhibition that will be displayed until the 25th of August. On the show, that has been launched the 23rd of May, there are Os Gemeos and Nunca from Brasil, JR from France, Blu from Italy, Faile from NY and Sixeart from Barcelona. The cool thing is that the exhibition has inspired many artist to paint all around the neighborhoods, turning them into an outdoor museum. Someday I'll go to London and see this exhibition. =)

Nike Presents: Beautiful Losers

Starting September 5th-12th, Beautiful Losers will be showing in San Francisco at Landmark Lumiere.

"Presented by NIKE SPORTSWEAR, the film chronicles the lives and creative process of artists including Shepard Fairey, Margaret Kilgallen, Mike Mills, Barry McGee, Jo Jackson, Chris Johanson, Harmony Korine, Stephen Powers, Geoff McFetridge, Thomas Campbell and Ed Templeton, among others, whose DIY attitudes informed the aesthetics and ethos of their generation.

To further commemorate the film’s release, Nike’s Sportswear’s JESSE LEYVA has also created a series of 22 Beautiful Losers Dunks emblazoned with iconic stills from the movie using the company’s new high-resolution digital printing process. Says Aaron Rose of the project, “We went back to the documentary and pulled frame stills of what we felt were key moments in the narrative. We used these moments to tell the Beautiful Losers story using the shoes as a medium, with the end result being a collection of works of art.” Viewed together, the shoes reflect the overall narrative of the film, and after being exhibited at the NYC and LA “Make Something!” workshops, two sets of the shoes will be auctioned off with proceeds donated to the Children’s Aid Society."

As mentioned above, two sets of the shoes will be auctioned very soon. We cannot remember the last time we were as excited about a set of shoes - a true collectors piece.

BEAUTIFUL LOSERS celebrates the spirit behind one of the most influential cultural moments of a generation

In the early 1990's a loose-knit group of likeminded outsiders found common ground at a little NYC storefront gallery. Rooted in the DIY (do-it-yourself) subcultures of skateboarding, surf, punk, hip hop & graffiti, they made art that reflected the lifestyles they led. Developing their craft with almost no influence from the "establishment" art world, this group, and the subcultures they sprang from, have now become a movement that has been transforming pop culture.

Starring a selection of artists who are considered leaders within this culture, Beautiful Losers focuses on the telling of personal stories. It speaks to themes of what happens when the outside becomes "in" as it explores the creative ethos connecting these artists and today's youth.

I will mosdef watch this movie. You should go too. =]
P.S.: I'll tell you more about the auction as soon as I find more detail.

SHAKUHACHI

I don't know about you, but these clothes are very hip. Jessie White’s clothes are absolutely distinctive. She combines modern, yet relaxed, sophistication with geometrical cuts and masculine-like tailoring to add a tougher edge to her fun, contradictory, chic designs. The special touch come from her quirky prints, I totally enjoy them.
P.S.: Mosdef my type of women who isn't afraid to be different. And damn the men's clothing, legit!

Opinions? Feel free to comment. I want to know what you think.

Men's Fashion Week

Never has so much ankle been so visible on so many guys. It’s hard to find a fella without pegged jeans, chinos, or trousers. Thus, Nicholas K one-upped everyone…pegged jean shorts for dudes. The girl’s trend has gender bent its way over to the Y chromosome.
Other than, showing some styling inspiration, Nicholas K once again found a way to make the mundane intricate, while still maintaining functionality.
